of the week: Punyatithi Message
We often see people, planning for their spiritual evolution. Some of them are of the view that, spiritual practices required for evolution, can only be initiated or started after attaining a certain age and physical condition. From my own experience and going through some of the available spiritual literature, I can say that spiritualism cannot be planned in this manner. We can plan for our personal and professional progress, but we cannot plan love or experience of God with such methodologies. It is like a spontaneous organic growth which generates out of love and is not built on logic alone. The entire human society has still not managed to produce a single Perfect Master from the intellectual class. Intellect by itself is a self-protecting, self-limiting and self-expansive propensity because of ego or “I” factor. Therefore one should try to shun his ego and mentally request the Master like Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, to lead one in the spiritual path. We can all see that ego in every form is self destructive and limiting in nature. Of all forms of ego, spiritual ego is the worst. We often see people starting to do pious work for Baba out of sheer love, but gradually the achievements take the form of ego and become a deterrent in spiritual progress. For example while serving in the temple if we nurture ego in our mind, than the temple becomes a place where the quality of love and togetherness is disturbed. Sometimes it is also seen that people show off their special relationship with Baba, which is definitely not the case. Spiritual evolution cannot be based on a competitive spirit. In the present times a modern man cannot do Yoga or Yagya, so the simplest approach is to be in a constant mental communion or to keep Ishta or Guru closest to one’s consciousness to engage in “Swadhayay,” “Atma chintan” and “Satsang.” A lot of literature is available on Baba in which Baba’s advice towards the adoption of these methods is clearly prescribed. One should read Sai Satcharita before sleeping everyday for this purpose, so that one can keep Baba in his consciousness. “Atma chintan” means thinking on one’s self. There must be some time during the day when one can muse over what one has read. One should consciously strive to find time to think about the Master and His sayings. The intensity of desire to read about the Master and to know about Him slowly brings out the perfect love for the Master. Once the love for the Perfect Master becomes unshakable and established in one’s heart then anything can be achieved. Satsang means being together and exchange of ideas with similar minded people. When a mass of devotees pray intensely, one can find pouring of divine blessing from the Master. Therefore the importance of the temples is to be instruments to encourage and provide a platform for group prayers. The Aartis sung by groups in temples are indeed intended to invoke the Master by a group of devotees. Therefore Swadhayaya, Atma chintan and Satsang create the right state of mind by evolving the required qualities of a devotee as per the Master’s wish. Article: Pranapathista ceremony of Shri Shirdi Sai Jalaram Temple in Houston It was the wish and prayers of many many devotees for many many years to have a new and spacious temple of Shirdi SaiBaba in Houston area. Finally with Baba's grace it was realised on 29th of August 2009 where both the idols of Shri Saibaba and Shri Jalaram Bapa are installed in the new temple. On that auspicious day early morning hours Shri Ganesh idol pranapathista was done. Later from 09:00 am onwards Shri Saibaba's idol pranapathista ceremony was performed by Pujya Shri C.B.Sathapathiji ( reverentially known as Guruji by devotees ) in an atmosphere of great ecstacy and jubiliation. It was a matter of great celebration, joy and blessing to witness the event. After the auspecious ceremony Shri Guruji gave a brief but memorable message as mentioned in the following few lines. "Shri Baba is here alive to bless you all, but handle Him carefully as He is the Holy Fire", "Sai Baba is the Deena Bandhu, so a devotee should approach Him as Deena, with a low profile state of egolessness." "Baba needs our simple and loving devotion. He makes no descrimination of the rich and poor, power and powerless, high and low, male and female etc.... For a true devotee Sai only is the VIP." The message was very well received and appreciated by the well attended devotees. The holy ceremony received Baba's blessings in many other ways eg; great help and coordination from Saibaba temple Chicago and a well responded devotees from different parts of USA. May Shri Shirdi Sai and Shri Jalaram Bapa bless and protect all of us ever and ever and ever. With profound Gratitude, respect and love to Shri Guruji, and special thanks to Chicago temple, all the organisers, and many voluteers in making the event a memorable one. Rahul Chitkara (South Asia) Being Sunday, they were much eager to have Saibaba's divine Darshan. So, alongwith her family, Roshni went to Baba's Temple and soon after the darshan, she Recovered her Lost Vision. This news spread like a storm and within minutes people gathered at the site in masses. People thronged to the Samadhi Mandir premises to have a glimpse of the said 9yr old girl hailing from Brahminpada, Malegaon. Photographer's and Reporters reached the security office to enquire about the authenticity of the incident. They made a complete enquiry by checking all the Medical Records of Roshni and also came across a reference letter by Dr.Deshpande of Malegaon along with Roshi's C.T.Scan report. This letter was issued by Dr.Girish Rao. The authorities of the Security department had a Telephonic conversation with Dr.Deshpande who confirmed that Roshni Suryawanshi had actually lost her Vision. He had mentioned that she had a normal vision but suddenly lost it for unknown reasons. Fortunately this girl got her vision back as soon as she came out of the Mandir after Baba's Darshan.
