Please visit Sai activities section for more details. Baba sometimes used to keep the books given to him by those wishing to get them consecrated. He used to give them away to others who came to him for other purposes. Baba also spoke highly of Sri Tilak's work on the Geetha. The "Question of the week" for the week is, What is the significance of Baba giving away certain books to some people? Humbly Yours, The Editor

![]() Feature of the week: Jesus from Shirdi Jesus Christ was a personification of Devine Love. Christmas stands for love, giving, and forgiveness. Shri Sai Baba was an apostle of love just as Christ was known to be. Some of the miracles performed by Sai Baba are very similar to miracles performed by Christ as described in the Bible. Stories of Baba healing the sick and the ailing and even those suffering from incurable diseases like leprosy are well known and too many. With Baba's touch and without any drops or medicine being put in the eyes, some blind men got back their sight. With His gracious look, some lame ones got their legs. Bhimaji Patil had chronic chest-disease that developed into Tuberculosis. Baba assured him with "the Fakir in the masjid very kind and He will cure the disease, and protect all with love and kindness." Baba cured his disease by giving him two dreams! Bala Ganapat Shimpi was cured of malignant Malaria. Alandi Swami was cured of severe pain in the ear. Shama was cured of snakebite. The Jamner episode of helping Chandorkar's daughter out of a difficult delivery by sending her Udi and Arti is a series of miracles. Baba's Udi cured people of Bubonic plague many times. The very first chapter in Satcharitha says that Baba pushed the Cholera epidemic out of the village by grinding wheat and throwing it on the village outskirts! These stories are simply too many. Sometimes, He took the sufferings of His devotees on Himself. He assured Mrs. Khaparde whose son was down with plague saying, "the sky is beset with clouds; but they will melt and pass off and everything will be smooth and clear." but as He lifted up His Kafni, four fully developed bubos, as big as eggs were visible. He diverted the death of Ramachandra Patil and averted Tatya's death taking it on Himself. Baba was in the habit of borrowing oil form the shopkeepers of the village for his little lamps that he kept burning the whole night, in both the masjid and the temple. Once, these merchants refused this little service to Him. Quite unperturbed, Baba filled his lamp containers with water and lighted the wicks-and lo, they started burning, and kept burning all throughout the night as if in defiance of the shopkeepers who later repented and became His disciples. Bible has a similar story of Christ turning water into wine to save the host of a wedding party from embarrassment. Christ like, he could command the winds and the rain. One evening there was a terrible and destructive storm at Shirdi and the little village was flooded with incessant rain. The many local deities were sought to be appeased but in vain. At last, people flocked to the masjid and prayed to Baba to quell the storm. The great yogi came out to the edge of the masjid and ordered the storm to stop. At once, the winds, the rain, and the lightning obeyed His will and became still. Most of all, Shirdi Baba was known for His motherly love towards all
around Him, people, animals, and birds alike. He loved them as much as
He loved His devotees and followers. He promised, "If one turns all his
attention towards Me and worships Me heart and soul, is meek and humble,
avoids the company of atheists, irreligious and wicked people, he will
get ETERNAL HAPPINESS. His dishes will be ever full and never empty."
Contributed Article: Are everybody equal in Sai Ji's eyes?
I have been observing and reading various opinions in Sai Vichaar for a
very long time. In my opinion some comments have been a bit harsh on
others and reflects "ego" of the writer and a holier than though
attitude. While others have been churning out so much of encouragement
and refreshing strength that you can feel as if they are praying on
behalf of a devotee. Many experiences have been so "Sad" and have been
thought provoking. I am also aware that there are others who have deeper
problems than we do. It can also be said that there are others who may
have problems lesser or even equal to us. To tackle the problems one
theme always resonates is that of "Saburi". My current experience and
situation is embarrassingly a nagging problem and is biting me inside.
This I have taken prayerfully to Sai Ji. For last 18-24 months, Sai Ji
knows but has not shifted his finger even to help.
I have incessantly prayed to him morning and evening and during the
days, thoughts linger on him and crave for his assistance. But no, his
help does not arrive. Time ticks on, age goes on. They do not have
"Saburi". Problem snowballs and hinders every turn you make in life that
to does not have "Saburi". All attempts and efforts are made not to lose
faith and pick up Sai Satcharitha (and re-read it in 7days) to get close
to Sai Ji but that to does not answer and sway him to look at me and
help me out of my predicament. Now I have began to understand how people
have written experience on contemplating suicide, turning to alcohol,
and unpleasant practices of life. I understand their actions though it
is not right.
Questions that linger in my mind are, Are the leelas and Help for some
selected once or for everyone in the universe who comes to the holy feet
of Sai Ji?
Can Sai Ji give "Saburi" to time that is ticking along?
Can Sai Ji give "Saburi" to problems that snowball and become like a
gigantic mountain crushing you?
Does perseverance and incessantly approaching him means anything to Sai
Ji?
Longing for Sai Ji's help is like a thirsty person longing for water in
a Hot Desert. That person who is longing is myself among others! Will
greatly appreciate if in your prayers I am remembered too and request
Sai Ji to help me. I commit myself and like to say that "IF" and "WHEN"
I have my answers and receive help from my Sai Ji, I will write back and
"EAT" my and recite my experience on your website. I will also encourage
Saburi and help others to gain strength from my experience and thus
faith in Sai Ji. But then until that happens there have to be real
experience and then the ultimate conviction. A final word to those who
have experienced Sai Ji's help. Keep it as a treasure because it is a
rear experience and not for all to experience. Wish I could also
experience it in my life! Om Sai Ram.

I went to Bombay to see my relatives and way back to Hyderabad, I went to Shiridi by Bus. On the way in Nasik, one young man in his early twenties boarded the bus and started conversing with me. I understood that he was also coming to Shiridi for Baba's darshan. When we reached Shiridi it was about 3'O clock in the morning and this young man suggested that we take rest for an hour and stand in the queue for Baba's darshan. When I got up to take bath, the young man offered to take care of my bag. Naturally, I doubted his motives. He again suggested that he would be waiting outside the bathroom and he asked me to finish my bath fast and come. Since I was speaking to him for couple of hours by then, somehow I could not refuse his offer and immediately went to take bath. Though I was taking bath, my heart and soul was with my bag. So, I finished my bath somehow and ran back to the place where I left. This young boy was sitting there with my bag. He then requested me to take care of his bag and went for his bath. I felt ashamed for doubting him. Later also, he was guiding me all along. After early morning Darshan, when others were going out, he asked me to stay back and said that Baba's Abhishekam was going to be performed and showed me a seat in the first row to have better view of the entire Abhishekam process. When everything was over, he guided me to a restaurant for my breakfast and when I offered breakfast to him, he refused to take and left saying that he had to catch another bus. Believe me, I went back to search for him but he was not to be seen. I was thinking that he was just a stranger and he was trying to help me with some motive. However, later, I felt that Baba only came to help me as a young man but as a normal human being, I doubted his actions. I offer my apologies to Baba through this article. Om Sri Sairam. Sanjeev

Please help me. I was praying to you every morning, but when the expected did not happen, I became angry that you are not listening to my prayers. I now realize that until you decide, nothing will happen. Therefore, Sai Baba I pray to you now, and ask that you make it possible for me and my family to move away from this place. I place all my trust in you, Baba. Please help me. Sai Devotee
